Lesson times can be arranged by calling the Nathan at (212) 582-6765, or by sending an e-mail to Nathan at jederengel@hotmail.com.

NOTE: The quickest way to schedule lessons is to call me at 212-582-6765. If you cannot reach me, please consider that leaving a long message with your phone number spoken quickly at the end of the message makes it difficult for me to return the call -- because I have to find a piece of paper and a pencil and time to write down your number and name. It's amazing how many people who call me don't leave their number, or speak it so quicky I can't catch it. If you miss me on the phone, I would recommend sending an e-mail with your phone number, and preferred lesson times. Also please be aware, everyone wants 7 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. These are hot times. If you can please consider 6 PM or 8 PM. Or even better times during the day or weekends.

Private Voice Lessons
a one hour lesson -- $60
a one hour lesson in your home -- $100 (rate can vary depending on location)

when you pre-pay for 5 lessons $250 ($50 a lesson)

WORK STUDY
If you are a young starving artist and would like lessons, but cannot afford them, we might be able to work out a work-study situation. This might include putting up posters or other tasks. If you are interested, please e-mail and tell a little about your situation.

Piano Lessons
a one hour piano lesson -- $40
a two hour voice/piano lesson (one hour each) -- $90

NOTE:

After the first lesson, I will accept cash or checks -- for your first lesson I require the lesson to be paid on-line with credit card (through PayPal). This assures me that you are dependable and committed, and protects me if you are not. While I understand that things come up last minute, nevertheless, you cannot cancel within 24 hours of the lesson time. This is a strict policy. If you are a regular student and you need to reschedule, just give me a call. This 24 hour policy does not bend for work, illness or last minute visitors. If you think you might have to miss the lesson, just reschedule in advance. Thank you for your understanding.

Talk about a great gift! Even though I'd always enjoyed singing, I'd never had any training. My sister knew I probably wouldn't get around to signing up on my own, so she got me Nathan's Boot Camp for Christmas. I learned volumes about how the voice works, the different components to a full tone, vibrato, and most of all had a great, great time. The group setting was a fantastic way to get over natural inhibitions and made the class a great two-hours of fun. And the compliments on my improved singing have been nice, too! Thanks Nathan!

When I first heard of Nate's "Vocal Technique Boot Camp" (albeit from an extremely satisfied past student of the course), it sounded a bit daunting. 8 strangers, some complete beginners, learning to sing together over the course of ten weeks? I wasn't sure. I shouldn't have worried because within 10 minutes of my first class I was hooked, and I considered each class the highlight of every week I came. It starts with Nate who is one of the most enthusiastic, committed teachers I've ever encountered. He genuinely seems to want his students, no matter what their ability or musical background, to leave feeling better about their singing and themselves. For someone like myself, who hadn't really sung beyond his shower, the ability to sing a song, in tune and with feeling, is an enormously empowering and uplifting experience. Nate helped make that possible in a fun, positive environment in which we learned almost as much as we laughed. I can't recommend it enough.

"I have been to different teachers. I even exercised every day. But I never
understood how to use my chest voice. After one lesson with nathan I started
using my chest voice properly. You are a great teacher thanks."

"In just a matter of months, Nathan helped me with tone, confidence and a myriad of other aspects of my singing. With his active teaching style and variety of techniques, Nathan is in tune with his students and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Best of all, Nathan is versatile allowing me to sing anything from classical to Broadway to jazz and anything else imaginable with his great techniques."
